Recently, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China launched a national supervision on four kinds of children’s products: toys, children’s vehicles, children’s shoes, and children’s clothing. This spot check inspected 185 batches of toys produced by 173 companies in 6 provinces and cities including Shanghai, Suzhou, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong and Guangzhou. A total of 172 batches were qualified while 13 batches were unqualified. The spot check inspected 116 batches of children’s vehicles produced by 116 companies in 6 provinces and cities including Tianjin, Hebei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong. A total of 93 batches were qualified while 23 batches were unqualified. The spot check inspected 200 batches of children’s clothing produced by 200 companies in 9 provinces and cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong and Guangdong. A total of 174 batches were qualified while 26 batches were unqualified. The spot check inspected 100 batches of children’s shoes produced by 100 companies in 7 provinces and cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong and Sichuan. A total of 84 batches were qualified while 16 batches were unqualified.

The main unqualified items:
Toy: points, projections, small parts.
Children’s vehicles: accessible sharp points, braking device, dynamic strength, anti-impact spacing, dangerous clamped clearance, small parts, brake lever dimensions, etc.
Children’s clothing: fiber content, pH value, AZO dyes, colour fastness to rubbing.
Children’s shoes: free formaldehyde, abrasion resistance, band pull strength, outsole hardness and Appearance.
