Nearly 8.4% of garment imports fail quality inspection

Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau revealed that in the first half of this year, Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau dealt with more than 22000 batches of import clothing, with a value of  $427 million. Inspection and quarantine departments launched a inspection of 4874 batches of import clothing. It was found that 409 batches were unqualified and the failure  rate was up to 8.4% at Shanghai Port.

The main unqualified items were color fastness, pH value and formaldehyde content. The failure rate of some import clothing brands was 11.82%.
