Pursuant to Intertek Standard Update CN-677, the next reporting deadline for the Washington State Children’s Safe Product Act (CSPA) is February 28, 2013. The rule requires manufacturers of children’s products to report the presence of one or more Chemicals of High Concern to Children (CHCCs) to the department.
The Challenge:
Companies with gross aggregate sales of over USD1 billion must report information about products that come into prolonged contact with the skin (Tier 2). Additionally, companies with between USD250 million and 1 billion in sales must report information on products applied to the skin, products that are intended to be placed in the mouth, as well as products that can be placed in the mouth of children under 3 years of age (Tier 1), by February 28, 2013 as well.
